What I've been up to! November
November for me started with a weekend away with a local church. A group of us from NYFC went to do the youth work at this weekend away at Letton hall. I also helped with the children's work. It was really nice to get involved with a different church and get to know some new people.
Also at the beginning of November was fireworks night. On fireworks night I was at a youth group where we made Guy Fawkes to burn on the bonfire (a new experience for me), had fireworks, fete games and hot dogs. The weekend after was the fireworks display in the city centre which was really cool.
NYFC have started a new project called the Anti Bullying Roadshow. Our first roadshow was this month in a local school. ( I have written a separate blog post about this). http://abiwb.blogspot.co.uk/2015/11/anti-bullying-roadshow.html
At the end of November we had a big worship event in the centre of Norwich called encounter with 105 young people. This was an amazing event with storehouse ( the NYFC band) leading worship and Phil Timson, from Hope Revolution, talking about Gods love for us and dedicating our lives to mission. About 20 young people dedicated their lives to God, many for the first time. Part of Phil's talk was about mission academy, which equips young people to reach out to other young people in their schools and other places, telling the good news of God. 34 young people signed up for the next mission academy in Norwich, which starts in January and will happen one weekend each month for 3 months. This was an amazing night, with the next encounter happening on Good Friday.
With Christmas approaching, we have been getting ready for the Christmas production. This is a joint partnership between different churches in Norwich with NYFC, and has been a lot of fun to be involved in. The last couple of months have been full of rehearsals and prop making, and we have our first performance tonight!! (5th December)
Prayer points:
The Christmas production will go well.
More sign-ups for mission academy and that the young people will really engage with it.
