June films
Pirates of the Caribbean (Cinema) 2017
I am very confused how Pirates of the Caribean is still going. It was a good film but not as good as the first couple in the series. My conclusion is that they need to stop making them, even if they are good, and start making a new series. I want to have a day to watch all the Pirates of the Caribbean films from beginning to end, and that will probably be the only reason I watch it again.
Never let me go (DVD) 2010
Such a sweet and sad film based on a book following the lives of three kids at boarding school growing up to adults. The film looks a the deep secret they all share and how it will completely change their lives. It questions to many parts of normal life, such as free will and human rights. I watched this film and read the book multiple times and love it so much.
Ponyo (DVD) 2008
Yes, I did watch that last month, yes, I may be a bit obsessed, but it is so good. I got the DVD for my birthday, but the DVD player wasn't working at my parent's house so watched it as soon as I got home.

Skyfall (DVD) 2012
I haven't watched many James Bond films, only the Daniel Craig ones but I really enjoy them. This was probably the 3rd time I had watched Skyfall and I think it is my favourite out of the Daniel Craig ones. Should I watch the classics or not bother? I haven't decided yet.
Wonder woman (Cinema) 2017
I'm getting more into Marvel/ DC films recently and decided to go and see Wonder Woman in the cinema with friends. It was a really good film, full of action and a constant moving plot line. It has made me want to watch more superhero movies. One flaw that I saw was as it was quite a long film, and I guess all films like that are long. It was 141 minutes long and I feel like it would have been better at 2 hours.
Sleepless in Seattle (Netflix) 1993
I love this film and I want to watch it again. It is such a sweet film about a boy who's mum died a year ago and thinks that his dad needs a girlfriend to stop him being lonely. He calls an evening talk show on the radio and talks to the woman about this. The radio talk show woman gives him the nickname of 'Sleepless in Seattle'. The whole nation listens in to this show and becomes really involved in this man's love life. He starts to get letters from women across the country who want to be with him. The little boy is so cute!!! You need to watch this film straight away.
Pitch perfect two (Netflix) 2015
I'd never watched this all the way through so decided to leave it as a treat for finishing my first year of uni! This film looks at the same group as the last film and them getting ready for the world acapella championships. It was so funny and just as great as the first film. I loved it so much and every time I watch things like this I wanna join a group and start singing. Should I do this?
Sixteen candles (Netflix) 1984
This film was such a weird film! It was about a girl who turns 16 but all her family forget because they are all busy doing the last minute wedding planning for her sister's wedding. She ends up spontaneously going to a school dance. I'm not sure I even have words to explain the rest of it. It was so odd.
God's not Dead 2 (Netflix) 2016
I had already watched this film once before but decided to watch it again with a couple of my housemates. It follows a teacher who has been suspended from work and ends up in court after she answers a students question and Jesus in a history class. I really like this film but it is incredibly cheesy and predictable. I've watched it at a youth camp before and it is the kind of film that I will show at a youth group in the future.
The shack (Cinema) 2017
The Shack is one of my favourite books and I was so excited when I heard that it was being turned into a book. The film is about a man whose daughter had been killed and was struggling with guilt after he blamed himself for what happened. He got a letter asking him to go to the shack where his daughter was killed. When he gets there he finds God as three people, the father, son and Holy Spirit. It is a great film, slightly cheesy but not as bad as you would expect.
Chalet girl (netflix) 2011
This was another random film I watched on Netflix. It was about a girl who needed a job moved from London to Austria to work on a ski resort. Whilst she is there she works out that she has a great aptitude to snowboarding and ends up entering a competition. It is a very typical teen rom-com and I'm not sure if I would watch it again but I did enjoy it.
Baby driver (cinema) 2017
Once a month the Odeon in Norwich does a 'Screen unseen' where they show a random film which hasn't come out yet for £5 per ticket. They realise clues on Twitter but I found they were no help in working out which film it was. You don't know what film it is until the ads have finished and the film is just about to start. This was the first time I had gone and I was really looking forward to it. The first 45 mins of the film were amazing but I started to feel ill and had to leave :( I'm going to go again when it comes out!
Divergent (Netflix) 2014
I hadn't watched this film in ages and saw it was on Netflix. It is a very similar idea to the hunger games, society is split into different factions based on aptitude. Some members of society, called divergents, have the aptitude to fit into all the different factions. Trish, who is one of the few divergents, switches faction and leaves her family when she is old enough. She is then able to learn the truth behind the faction system.
Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2 (Netflix) 2013
I love this first Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. I will happily watch it every day for the rest of my life. The second one wasn't as great but follows the same characters as the first film as they try and return the world back to normal after it was taken over by food. It was so funny and cute and I already want to watch it again. You should definitely watch both the first and second film in this series.
Cinderella (Netflix) 2015
This is such a good film. I was a bit sceptical of this film as I didn't know how they were going to stretch it out to fill a film this long, and I thought I would get bored but I was wrong. It was a great film and you should watch it even if you aren't into Disney princesses.
Stepford Wives (DVD) 2004
Joanna and her family move to a nice 'perfect' town in order to start a new life. However, there is something different about this town. The women all seem like perfect housewives with no problems at all, which makes it hard for Joanna to fit it. My favourite scene, which is near the beginning where Joanna joins a fitness class with other women from the area, where they pretend to be washing machines. Even if you decide not to watch this film, you have to youtube this clip!
Insurgent (Netflix) 2015
A sequel to Divergent, Trish is now leading a rebellion against the faction system. The leaders of the city are trying to capture all divergents, especially Trish. It's definitely not as good as the first one but still an alright film.
Into the Woods (Netflix) 2014
As a mixture of may different fairy tails including little red riding hood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel. It was such a nice sweet film but did drag on for a bit long. It has quite a few famous actors in, even including James Corden! I'll definitely watch it again.
Lemony Snicket: unfortunate events (Netflix) 2004
I've not read the books but when the series came out on Netflix at the beginning of the year. I loved it so decided to watch the film. I felt like the film wasn't as good at the series because it felt really rushed, so many different things happen in the books that they have picked a few of them and squished them into a film. This could just simply be because I watched the series first. It is a good kids film though and I'll probably watch it with my younger brother.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (Netflix) 2013
I've watched the fist film in the Hunger Games series hundreds(ish) of times but not the second one so I thought that I would give the second film a watch. The film starts with Katniss and Peeta going on the victory tour visiting all the districts in Panam. Because it is the 75th hunger games that year, there is a special hunger game which changes everything. It was really good but definitely, would not have made sense without watching the first one before. It also ends on a big cliffhanger so I'm gonna have to watch the next one soon! Maybe someday soon I should have a Hunger Games marathon??
Clueless (Netflix) 1995
My only knowledge of Clueless was the fact that the Fancy music video by Iggy Azalea was based on the film. I didn't have any high expectations of the film but I loved it so much! Cher, a rich high school girl, meets a new girl at her school and decided to give her a makeover. It's such a sweet chick flick which I am definitely going to watch more times.
Legally Blonde (Netflix) 2001
Legally Blonde is another chick flick which I love. I had already watched it once before but decided it watch it again. Elle is seen as a blonde bimbo who won't amount to much in life. Her boyfriend dumps her because he wants a smart girl who support her, which crushes Elle. To get him back she studies crazy hard to get into Havard Law school to prove him wrong. The film then looks at her trying to prove herself.

Never been kissed (Netflix) 1999
Josie, who worked at a newspaper, was desperate to become a reporter. She was given to opportunity to become an undercover reporter in a school, so she dressed up like a 16-year-old and went back to school. I had watched this film but years ago, and yet again, it's a classic chick flick and I loved it.
So these are the films I've watched this month, I doubt that next month I will watch as many (But you never know!) What films do you think I should watch next month??
