September films Part one

So... I have watched so many films this month that I have split this blog into 2! Here are the films I watched in the first half of September. Have fun :)

Horrid Henry: The Movie. 2011. U. Netflix.

Such an awful film, but I was being a good big sister, and Daniel loved it, so I guess that's the important thing. I do however like how they made it seem like animation, everything was so bright and colourful.

The Emoji Movie. 2017. U. Cinema.

Yet again, when Daniel was staying with me, I was being a good big sister and took him to see the Emoji film. It was just as awful as the Horrid Henry film. I feel like it was a mix between inside out and wreck it Ralph, but not as good. It was about an Emoji that didn't fit in, and could just stay as one emoji. The rest of the Emojis think that he must be a malfunction, so set the antivirus to get rid of him.

Madagascar 3: Europe's most wanted. 2012. PG. Netflix.

The final film Daniel and I watched whilst he was staying with me. However, unlike the other films, I loved Madagascar 3! It's a very silly film where the animals end up joining a circus. You should definitely watch it. Watch this video, it pretty much summarises the whole film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQ3A7P3k8mI

P.S. I love you. 2007. 12. Netflix.

Believe it or not, this was the first time I had watched this film. I thought I had watched it before, but actually, I was thinking of the proposal (totally different film). Holly's husband Gerry died just months before her 30th birthday. Knowing that he would die before her birthday, Gerry recorded messages to start arriving on her 30th birthday. It's such a sweet, sad, romantic and lovely film. I definitely want to watch it again.

Mean Girls. 2004. 12. DVD.

This is such an amazing film, which I often put on in the background when I am doing something else. On this occasion, I was going through all my craft stuff whilst laughing at the film. It's a great duo! For those who don't know what the film is about, it's about a girl called Kady who has just moved to America and started high school after being homeschooled in Africa. She struggles to fit in and ends up being in the 'plastics' group, the popular group in the school. It's a stereotypical girly film which I love.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. 2016. 12. DVD.

As a massive Harry Potter fan, it was an absolute shock that I hadn't watched fantastic beasts until now. I absolutely loved the film, and want to watch it over and over again. The film, which is a prequel to the Harry Potter series,  follows the life of Newt, who wrote the book 'Fantastic Beasts and where to find them'. This book is mentioned in the Harry Potter films as one of the books which Harry, Ron and Hermione studies at Hogwarts. In this film, Newt hasn't yet written the book but is travelling round researching for the book. However, after watching it, I had a sudden (sad) realisation that maybe I only liked it because of how much I loved the Harry Potter series, and maybe if it wasnt connected I would like it. I still can't work it out :(

Paper Towns. 2015. 12. Netflix.

This is a film that I have deliberately avoided cause I loved the book and didn't want Cara Delavigne to destroy it, but when I saw that it was on Netflix I decided to watch it anyway. It was actually alright, but not great. The film is about a girl (Margo) who has been reckless in the past, and her neighbour, a guy called 'Q'. Margo disappears one day after a crazy night of the both of them doing pranks on everyone they feel deserves it. Q and his friends then try to find her.

Bye guys! Speak to you all soon.
