Gonzo's tea room
(Confession: I wrote this, and many other blog posts, over the summer, and then forgot to post them. Sorry!! But I guess, better late than never.)
In an attempt to get to know Norwich better, a group of us have started exploring more restaurants and pubs in the area.
The first place we went to was ‘Gonzo’s tea room’ which is hidden by Open youth Venue. You may expect a cute little tea room serving afternoon tea from the name, but this is not what it is. Gonzo’s is a pub/bar which serves food as well. The interior is quirky with things like beds for seats, a live DJ at certain parts of the day and painting which interestingly interpret the last supper. It is also dog-friendly which is a plus.
While I was there I ordered the veggie Ceaser salad which came with garlic sauce, parmesan, fried egg, caesar salad, halloumi and veggie bacon bits. This was honestly the best salad I have ever had. The burgers also looked terrific and they do chicken wing sides. One disadvantage is the lack of variety for those who have a specific allergy or dietary requirements. They had a lot of veggie food and burgers, but no gluten-free burgers. The price was also not too bad. The salad with £12 but massive!
I would definitely go again, and I’m not even sure I would try anything new because I loved what I had.
Bye guys! Speak to you all soon.
