What I've been up to! February

The first weekend of February I went to Sizewell hall with Gemma to do the youth work for a local church in Norwich. This was the first time what we were left to plan everything by ourselves and go without any of the NYFC members of staff. I was quite nervous because we didn't know anyone from the church and it was something very new for us to do, but it was so much fun and everyone was really nice. We had a really small group of youth, only 6 young people, but it was really good and they seemed to really engage with that we were doing. The church really took us in and accepted us as their own and made us feel so welcome.

Over the half term I had some time off where I went to visit a couple of people from sixth form who are at uni in Portsmouth and Winchester, and I also stayed with my family for a couple of days. It was so good to have some time off and relax.

The day I came back from having some time off was the second day of mission academy. It was so good to hear how each groups mission went, and was good to help each group come up with a new mission plan. They are all so enthusiastic about their mission plans and how they can use it to serve God.

We had another chance to do the Anti bullying roadshow in a school. This time we were not in Norwich, but in great Yarmouth. It was cool to be able to go to a place where we don't usually go to in order to spread the message against bullying, and ultimately share the good news about God. Unfortunately, Gemma, who plays the bully, was ill. This meant that someone had to jump in at the last to play her role. It went surprisingly well, with only a few hiccups.

Straight after ABR in Great Yarmouth, I had to rush back to go on a youth week end away with my church. We went to Letton hall, which I went to back in November. It was so nice to go, with about 45 young people. Even though it was with my church, I knew very few of them, as most of the youth group don't attend the Sunday morning service. It was so good to get to know some new people, and also build more relationships with the young people who I already knew.

Straight after Letton hall I went to Mid year retreat, which is a four day retreat with all the gap years from YFC. It was so good see everyone again.

Prayer points:
The youth at both the NCBC and Meadow way chapel weekend away really understand the messages that we were giving.
The students at the school in Great Yarmouth will consider new ways that we have suggested to reduce and ultimately stop bullying in their school
