Four films, One day

At the end of September, a group of us went to the cinema to watch four films. Yes, four films, one day, two food breaks and a lot of snacks! Here are the films we watched.

Goodbye Christopher Robin.

Goodbye Christopher Robin is a film about the family who created the Winnie the Pooh books. It follows the little boy from when he is born to when he is an adult. Billy (Christopher Robin's nickname) fell in love with the teddies and created stories with them every day. This then led to his favourite toy, a bear, being the main character of one of his dad's books. This film is based on the real-life events of the family as Billy was growing up.

This is such a sweet film, but incredibly sad. Everyone I was with was in tears by the end of the film, not just a couple of tears but everyone in the screen was blubbering! I definitely want to watch this again, and one of my friends has already gone to the cinema twice to watch it.

Home again

Home again is about a mum and her two kids, who move away from New York to start a new life. On a night out, the mum meets a group of film makers, who come round that night and then end up living with the family as they have nowhere else to go.

I really liked this film, even though it is quite a cheesy rom-com. Its sweet, and I really like the relationships the band build with the children, and how they are all there for each other. However, I'm not sure if I will watch it again now I know what happens.

Victoria and Abdul

Victoria and Abdul is based on the life of Queen Victoria. Whilst Britain has control of India, and visit is made by a couple of India workers to give her a medal, one of these people is Abdul. Victoria and Abdul instantly have a connection and get on really well. The film is about the relationship they have.

I really enjoyed this film, but the group of people that I went with had different views. There are quite a lot of racist comments made in this film; at the time the film was based on, the English population was generally very racist to the Indian population. I felt that this racism was reflecting the time and therefore ok. However, a couple of people have said to me that it went too far, as the comments were purely made as jokes to make people laugh at the Indian population. Have you seen this film? What did you think about the racism?

Kingsman: Golden circle.

When the Kingsman headquarters is destroyed, the Kingsmen find clues leading them to the Statesmen, a similar organisation in American.

I hadn't watched the first film, but still really wanted to watch this. I don't think it is massively important it watch the first film before this one, but it does make a bit more sense if you do. I enjoyed the film, even though I don't enjoy gruesome scenes, they were made to be so funny and unrealistic. I should definitely go and watch the first film now!

After watching so many films in the cinema in one day, I was so exhausted. I probably won't do this again anytime soon, but it was loads of fun.

Bye guys! Speak to you all soon.
