Yesterday evening (13th November) there was a big terrorist attack in Paris. Only 270 miles away from me 129 people were killed and 350 people were injured. The attacks were at various places around Paris including a concert hall, a sports stadium, restaurants and bars. At least one person who was killed is know to have been British. With Islamic state claiming full responsibility for the attacks, France have seen the attack as an act of war with the country now in a state of emergency. But this was not the only major event to happen that night. In Japan and Mexico there were big earthquakes. In Baghdad a funeral was bombed and in Beirut there was a suicide bombing attack. All of these disasters together caused 115200 people to die in the space of 24 hours. But why has this all happened? Why do we live in a world where big terrorist attacks like this happen? Natural disasters, such ad earthquakes can't be stopped, but disasters such as terrorism can be stopped and we should stand up against this violence. We need to continue to pray for everyone in these areas and for the families of those affected.
