What I've been up to! End of October
I've been up to a few different things over the last couple of weeks.
I came home to London to visit family at the end of October. I went on the Thursday, which was my brother’s birthday and stayed until the following Tuesday.
It was so nice to see my brother on his birthday, especially because he didn't know I was coming. We went to the park, which was something we used to do a lot, then, went out for dinner with the rest of the family.
Another thing I managed to do whilst I was in London was meet up with a few friends who had gone to uni, because we planned to all be back in London around the same time.
On the Sunday I went to church in the morning, before going to for lunch with my dad. We went to the gourmet burger kitchen in Westfield, Stratford. The burgers were so amazing, I had the cheese and bacon one. We then ordered all the Christmas food, (yes I know it was a bit early!) before I went to church in the evening with some friends.
I love going back to London to visit people, even though it can be really weird being back. I'm back in London every other week for training, but it's not the same because I'm in a different part of London, and very rarely get to actually see friends or family after training before I go back to Norwich.
When I was back in Norwich, all the projects I am normally involved in, such as youth groups, we're not on due to half term. This meant that I had a lot of spare time which I used to do various different things, but mainly to get some of my assignment for my moorlands course done. I'm now ahead of where I am supposed to be, which is amazing, because I now don't have to worry as much about deadlines.
The last weekend of half term, some of us from Norwich YFC helped with a local church's weekend away doing the youth work. The weekend away was at a Christian conference centre. We did five sessions with the young people over the weekend, as well as having free time with them to do different activities such as play pool and play card games. As well as helping with three of the youth sessions, I also helped with two of the children's sessions. We also had a chance to do some go-carting (I only crashed twice!!!!)
I really enjoy doing my regular projects, such as youth groups, but I also love doing one off weekends such as this weekend away because it's such a great way to meet new people and do something different.
Prayer points:
That I would have the confidence to talk to more young people about my faith
