There is a blessing in the storm. Sit tight. #speaklife
Toby Mac recently put this quote on his Facebook.
'There is a blessing in the storm. Sit tight'
I believe this is true, even though in many situations, it's very hard to see.
Currently this really speaks into my life.
Recently, my grandma died. Her funeral was at the beginning of this week.
This was a big storm in our lives, but it doesn't seem like a blessing, and how could a blessing come out of it?
She died so suddenly, from a stroke, which left me feeling empty, and not knowing what to do.
I tried to continue life like nothing had happened, but inside I wasn't feeling like this. I was really struggling to sleep for about two weeks, which made me so tired, and almost numb to what was happening around me.
How could this be a blessing? How could something good come out of this?
Through everything that has happened, I have spent quite a lot of time recently in Newcastle, where my mums family live. This has given me a chance to spend a lot of time with family members I haven't seen in ages; I hadn't seen my cousin in 7 years. I also got a chance to meet family members I haven't met before. My mum also got a chance to meet up with old school friends.
This whole experience also showed me how important family is. Even though we live all over the country, we should make an effort to spend time together, because the time we have together will eventually come to an end, and we should make a most of the time we have.
All these blessings are not at all worth as much as my grandma, and don't make up for the fact that she has now gone. It does however bring a positive to the negative things that happen in life, bring a blessing to the storm.
God will always care for us and look after us no matter what happens.
Grandma, we all love you so much and miss you so much. I wish that you didn't have to leave xxx
John 14:1-6:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Prayer points:
Please pray for my family
