What I've been up to! May

At the beginning of May I went to see rend collective at UEA. This was so much fun and great to have so many people together to worship God. I went with a few friends but bumped into other people I know when I was there. Rend collective showed us that we don't have to take worship too seriously, that we can have fun and join together as a family.

As part of a youth group, I did a talk about death. This was such a hard talk to do but it was really good to talk about something that affects all of us. This was around the same time of one year since the death of one of the girls who went to my youth group, so was in all of the young people's minds. We did a memorial activity to remember those who have died by writing messages that we would want to the person if they were still alive, then tied them to a ballon and let them go into the sky.

In May we also had our last hub training day, which was a revue of the year. Over the day we had lots of different stations where we would focus on different parts of the year and prayer, such as praying for all the young people we have interacted with this year and just being still and listening to God.

I have started helping at a music group called the jam. The jam has been going on since January has taken over the group that was planning for the Christmas production on this autumn term of this school year. This is a group where was all meet together and play instruments and sing. We do a mix of covers and original songs. This group is so much fun and it has shown me my love of singing.

Over half term I was really busy, with going to big church day out, going to Scotland to visit family and it being my birthday. Even though it was busy it was so much fun!

Prayer points:

The group who listened to the pray talk find a healthy way to grieve and are able to talk to people about how they are feeling
As the end of the gap year comes, that everyone will be trusting in God for the plans for next year
The jam goes really well and we have more opportunities to grow in our music skills
