Cauliflower Pizza
As I am gluten free, I am always intrigued when I see alternative foods to my gluten filled favourites.
Whilst scrolling through facebook I saw a video on cauliflower pizza, where the base is made from blended cauliflower rather than flour, so I had a go!
Ingredients:
- 1 cauliflower
- 170g cheese
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Egg
- Toppings e.g. tomato puree and extra cheese
Method:
- Put baking sheet on a baking tray and preheat the oven to 230 degrees celsius.
- Wash the cauliflower and cut of the (fancy word alert) florets
- Put the florets into a blended it is blended thoroughly
- Place the blended cauliflower a bowl. Cover them place in the microwave for 4 minutes
- Add the cheese and salt to the cauliflower and mix
- Add the egg and mix
- Use your hand to take the dough and shape on the baking tray
- Bake for 8-11 mins until it turns golden brown
- Add your toppings and cook for another 5-7 mins
Comments:
- I managed to burn my pizza base before adding the tomato and cheese so make sure you keep an eye on it.
- The house absolutely stunk of cauliflower so make sure you have all available windows and doors open unless you want your house mates to hate you.
- The Cauliflower I brought was tiny once I took all the leaves off! I ended up with a tiny pizza.
