Float: Norwich

What is Float Norwich?
Float Norwich is a particular type of spa where you float in water with a high concentration on salt which lets you float without having to put effort in. This is supposed to help you relax an a distraction-free environment and started in the 50s. Float Norwich is the only float centre in East England, so some will travel far to experience this.
After a stressful week, I decided to book a 'mini float' at Float Norwich after seeing adverts on Facebook. The appointment was for a couple of weeks later, and I was both excited and nervous to see how it would be.

When I got there...
When I got there, I instantly got the sense of relaxation. I was asked to take my shoes off, while I was given a glasses of water and sat down listening to classical music. I was given a booklet about the studies of floating and its benefits. It was strangely relaxing as it is on a main road, but it was so quiet.

The float...

Once the road was ready, I was taken through, and the woman explained how it all worked. In the room, there was a shower, a towel, a chair, a shelf with products (including earplugs) and the pod. Once you have a quick shower, you go into the pod, which is like a big bath and you just float. There was a lot less water than I expected in the pod, shallower than a bath, but you don't notice as the amount of salt lets you float without any effort.
This was more relaxing than I expected. I don't really know how to describe it, but it basically feels like nothing is touching you, and with the music that you can play (if you want) it is distraction free. Even me, who is quite fidgety, found myself just being relaxed, nothing thinking about much. It also makes your skin super soft, which is a bonus.

After the float...

After the float, I had a shower with the shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided before I went through to the pamper room. In the pamper room there are hair products, hair dryers and straighteners with big mirrors to get your hair and makeup redone before leaving.

Afterthoughts...
I absolutely loved this and would do it again. I found it so relaxing and felt so refreshed afterwards.
The staff member I met was the best, she was so lovely and wanted to help me in whatever way she could. She made the experience the best it could be.

Should you do it?
Yes! I absolutely loved it. The one thing that would stop me going so soon is the price, £25 for a mini float or £55 for a full float, but the mini float was definitely worth the price, and next time I plan to book a full float.
