Audible: Him & me
(Confession: I wrote this, and many other blog posts, over the summer, and then forgot to post them. Sorry!! But I guess, better late than never.)
Him & Me, written by Jack and Michael Whitehall is a hilarious account of Jack growing up from the perspectives of Jack and his Father, Michael.
Listening to the audiobook, you can hear the relationship and repour between the two. Michael’s retelling of events is mainly him mocking Jack for various events, especially his ‘femininity’ as a child and desire to be an actor. Jack jokes about just as much as his dad while telling the stories, giving the audiobook the feel of being told the stories face to face. The way they tell the stories, it is more like them talking to the listener in more of a chat.
The stories, from both Jack and Michael, cover a wide variety of Jacks childhood, including family holidays, Christmas with the family and Jack auditioning to play Harry Potter in the films.
Before listening to the audiobook, I had already read the book but a few years before. I would recommend the audiobook rather than the book as little bits have been added from when they were recording it together, such as disagreements about how specific events happened.
Bye guys! Speak to you all soon.
