Scotland '18: Pitlochry

(Confession: I wrote this, and many other blog posts, over the summer, and then forgot to post them. Sorry!! But I guess, better late than never.)

Pitlochry is a place I have been to so many times with my family. I’m almost an expert on the place now, so here are some of the places I went to whilst I was staying in Pitlochry with my Grandpa over the summer. Most of the places are outside Pitlochry, but within a quick drive.

House of Bruer.

House of Bruer, 20 mins drive outside Pitlochry, is a big shop with lots of different departments, including clothing, gifts and art. Most of the departments are quite expensive and ‘posh’ but they have a sale department which is usually affordable. My favourite department is food, they have a massive food variety with a food court. If you decide to visit, you will end up spending more time here than you expect, and I would recommend going over lunch and popping into the food court, as the food is amazing and affordable.

Swimming.

At the caravan site we were staying at, there is a swimming pool. I went most days and really enjoyed it. It made me think about getting back into swimming.

McDonald Brothers

McDonald Brothers in Pitlochry is a Butchers with both a raw meat section and a cooked section. M Grandpa loves the food from here, so we went here a couple of times to get things for a BBQ.

Hettie’s tearooms.

Hettie’s is an amazing little tea shop in Pitlochry and I’ve been there so many times. They have a wide variety of food, and an even wider variety of teas. You can sit in and have soup, afternoon tea or cake, or get takeaway ice cream or cake. There is even a little tea shop where you can buy their loose-leaf tea or accessories such as mugs and tea strainers. I love this place and wish I could go here more often.

Dunkeld.

Dunkeld is a small touristy town 20 mins away from Pitlochry. I had fun wandering around for a morning having a look in small cute shops and the Cathedral. Next time I go I would like to go for longer so I have more time to explore.

Stirling.

Whilst I was in Pitlochry I took a day trip to Stirling. It took about an hour on the train from Pitlochry. To see what I did there, have a look at this blog.

Highland Fling.

Highland Fling is a bungee jump centre only 10 mins drive away from Pitlochry. I have a look at what I did there, look at this blog.

Bye guys! Speak to you all soon.
