I've finished my Gap year!!
On the 15th of July I officially finished my gap year, and I finished the work with NYFC on the 22nd July.
As a big celebration of the gap year, all the gap years from around the country came together in London to have a few days of partying and celebration.
On one of the days we had a free day to do what we wanted, so a small group of us went to the natural history museum to look round. It was such a lot of fun which was followed by a picnic, in our hotel room, due to rain.
That evening we got all dressed up to go out for dinner then go on a party boat. I dressed up as Jake from the Tweenies, with 3 other people dressing up as Tweenies characters. The boat was a lot of fun, with loads of photos taken, lots of dancing and stories shared of the last year.
The next morning we went to Lambeth Palace, where the Arch Bishop of Canterbury works. We had a service there with the Arch Bishop, as well as a lot of tears as we left each other for the very last time.
When I got back to Norwich, we had a leaving bbq with the NYFC team. Everyone was together round someone's house and it was a great day to say goodbye to everyone for the summer. As a leaving present from the gap year, I got a mug with photos from the year, chocolate and a card game called 'Code Names'. I have played the card game a few times, and it has been lots of fun.
I feel so sad about finishing the gap year, but I am so happy that I am staying with YFC in Norwich to work with a different church whilst at Uni.
Prayer points:
Our YFC family will stay together and continue praying for each other.
We were able to touch the people working on the party boat on the last night, as we spoke about all the things God did in our lives.
All the young people I come accross this year were able to take something I had said and apply it to their lives.
