What I am doing this year
Now that I have finished my gap year with Yfc One, I am starting my degree.
I am going to Moorlands bible college to study Applied Theology with Youth Work. This is a practical course with a placement, so I will spend one week at college around once a half term, and the rest of the time in placement, whilst completing all the college assessments. This will leave me being very busy!
I am very fortunate to have been offered a job with Norwich YFC, where I had my placement for my gap year. This means that I can have my placement there during my three years at uni, and continue living in Norwich. I'm so happy about this.
Last year I was working on lots of different projects in lots of different places, in order to be able to experience lots of different things. This year I will working in one place with one church in Taverham, a village north of Norwich, whilst still doing some big events with NYFC. I have not worked with this church before, but I am so excited to start a new adventure, whilst staying working with the YFC family. The church already has a youth group running but I am hoping to start new things, such as going into the local school.
This all means that I have moved house. I'm now living with other students in North west Norwich. This is about half way between the church where I am working and the city centre where the YFC office is, so fairly easy to cycle from home to either one. All the other students living in the house are doing either medicine or nursing at UEA, so I'm defiantly the odd one out!
This year is going to be a new chapter in my life, one that I am defiantly nervous but about but also filled with excitement to see what God is going to do. I can't wait!!
