Summer camps in Norfolk
After I finished my gap year I stayed in Norwich for almost a month to finish packing up and to help with summer youth activities which were happening.
The first activity I helped at was called Sonrise, which is a residential camp run my meadow way chapel church.
This was a camp for 11-16 year olds where we had lots of different activities during the day such as swimming, treasure hunts and days out at an activity centre.
Over the week we also had different Christian based talks and seminars. Also with another leader, I lead a seminar on the persecuted church. This was such a good topic to look at. I was able to learn more about the topic as well as educating the young people about the issues regarding the persecuted church going on around the world.
Straight after Sonrise I went to Newday. New day is a big Christian festival based at the show ground just outside Norwich.
This was my first year going, and I only went for one day, but it was so good. I went with the church that I'll be working with in September. This was a way for me to get to know the young people in the youth group and the leaders.
This camp really reminded me of soul survivor, the camp I went to when I was a young person. It was great as a youth worker to see thousands of young people gathered together to worship God and dedicate their lives him. It was able to give me a new perspective on Christian festivals.

Prayer points:
Every young person at these camps continue thinking about what they learnt over the summer and try to apply it to their lives.
