Disney with Amelia
As well as lectures when I am on study blocks, we also have a lot of free time to hang out with each other, and inevitably, watch films. When I found out that Amelia had not watched most Disney films, I decided that this needed to change! Here are three films that we watched in the November block week.
Moana. 2016. PG. DVD.
Moana is a girl who has always dreamed of being out at sea and exploring, but this goes against her culture so she is encouraged to do different things with her life. However, after hearing about a demi god who can solve her islands problems, she goes out to sea!
This is such an amazing film! Both me and Amelia had already watched this, but you can never watch it too many times. The music is just amazing and I will happily sing along for hours.
Review in July blog.

Lion King. 1994. U. DVD.
Simba the lion is the son of the king. As a young lion he makes friend with another lion called Nala, and they go on adventures round the area, inevitably getting themselves into trouble. Whilst this is going on, Simba has an evil uncle called scar who is trying the claim the kingdom as his own and become king.
Amelia hadn't watched this film before, this this was a must see! I love this film, even though all the sad parts; I can't imagine Disney making a film this sad today. But I don't think Amelia appreciated it to it's full potential #sadface.

Zootropolis. 2016. PG. DVD.
Zootropolis is a film about a rabbit who has dreamed to be a part of the police since she was very little. No other rabbit has made it onto the police force before, but through all her hard work she manages to qualify and move to the 'scary' city of Zootropolis.
This film is the cutest thing ever! It has a great message for children about working together with people who are different to you, and I think these messages are something that Disney has become very good at recently. However, there has been some confusion about the name of this film, in the UK it is called Zootropolis, but in the US it is called Zootopia. I had a bit of a google to see why this was and came across an article which stated: 'Don't bother asking Walt Disney. “In the UK we decided to change the US title to Zootropolis to merely allow the film to have a unique title that works for UK audiences,” a spokesperson said when queried. To clarify, they're changing the title because they're changing the title.' If only I could use arguments like that in my essays!
