Scotland '18: Montrose

(Confession: I wrote this, and many other blog posts, over the summer, and then forgot to post them. Sorry!! But I guess, better late than never.)


Next, I went to Montrose. I have a friend who lives here, and it was amazing to see her. I hadn’t seen Anna in almost a year, so it was fun to go out and have little adventures with her.


Beach

We went along to the beach. It was so empty as it isn’t a touristy area, so it was so lovely. We took our lunch and some wine and spent the time reading and chatting. It was amazing and so relaxing. I just love the beach.

Fire

One evening we went to another part of the beach, along the Montrose Basin to set a fire and toast marshmallows. This is definitely something that I would recommend doing as it was calm with only us on the beach, the sunset was fantastic and toasted marshmallows are the best.


Dundee

One of Anna’s friends was going out for her Birthday in Dundee, and I was invited to join them. Dundee is one of the closed cities to Montrose and about an hour drive away. While we were there, we went to a pizza restaurant, called Mozza, which was amazing, then went back to their hotel to have pre-drinks before they went out and we went home. It was really nice meeting new people, having loads of fun and eating amazing food.


Sharkeys

Just before I left Montrose, Anna and I went to Sharkeys Bar, which is in Montrose. We went for a late lunch/ early dinner, so hardly anyone else was there. The food was fantastic, I ordered the chicken melt from the main menu, but they also had a lunch menu for smaller portions. It wasn’t cheap, but also not too expensive, and I would defiantly recommend it.

I really enjoyed being in Montrose. As well and being able to see Anna and spend time with her family, I was able to explore the local area, and it was great!
