Your pace or mine?: What running taught me about life, laughter and coming last By Lisa Jackson
(Confession: I wrote this, and many other blog posts, over the summer, and then forgot to post them. Sorry!! But I guess, better late than never.)
Your Pace or Mine, by Lisa Jackson, is defiantly not the kind of book I would typically read. I’m gonna be honest with you, the only reason I read it is that I didn’t have internet and it was the only book downloaded on my kindle. I have no idea how it got there as I don’t remember downloading it but I am so happy that I read it.
The book looks at why people should run, with excellent stories from Lisa and others about why they run and funny experiences they have had while running. Lisa’s message is that almost everyone can run a marathon and doing this will have massive benefits in your life.
Lisa looks at different aspects of running, such as fear, never giving up, dreaming big, failure and even nudity. Each section has Lisa’s message followed by a selection of stories from other people.
This is possibly the most inspiring book I’ve read, and it's made me really want to start running again. I’ve started doing the couch to 5k recently, and it hasn’t been as bad as I thought. I’ve always loved the idea of being able to run a marathon but never thought I could. This book has made me rethink, maybe I can, but I may take some years.
This is a fantastic book, and I’m so happy that I read it, even though it was not expected. I would recommend this to anyone, even if you have no interest in running.
Bye guys! Speak to you all soon.
